Replacement
Crown Wheel and Pinion
The standard Land Rover
diff in Range Rovers and Discoveries is a 3.54 ratio, that is for every
3.54 turns of the tailshaft, the axles turn once.
When larger tyres are used
to replace the standard 29" tyres, the engine can struggle given the
higher gearing the tyres provide.
When 32"+ tyres are
used, the change in gearing can be over 15% which makes the car sluggish,
and it can struggle in off-road situations or towing.
The best solution in our
opinion is to change the standard 3.54 CWP with a 4.11 CWP.
Here is a quote from one
customer:
"Hi guys,
Just driven my truck
back from KLR automotive with the 4.11 CWPs installed. The vehicle drives
like a dream. Doesn't seem to even
have
any turbo lag.
If you have 32"
wheels or greater I would recommend this modification."
